oh for keepsake.

After spending a decent chunk o’ change on your fabulous bridal bouquet you wonder how to keepsake the most elaborate and expensive flowers you may ever hold. Rest assure – there are plenty of ways to get the most bang for your bouquet buck and enjoy those pretty petals long after you’ve said ‘I Do.’

Here’s some pin-spiration for your wedding flower keepsake.

store some petals in a mason jar next to an engagement or wedding pic

showcase your bouquet (and invite) in a shadowbox

order a customized wedding cardbox that doubles as a bouquet preserver post-wedding

my favorite idea of all – create an ornament including those wedding petals

DISCLAIMER: Mr. Why Knot and I jet-setted on a mini-moon the day after our wedding. I had left my bouquet in water for too long and came home to a slumped floral disaster! If you want to preserve your bouquet after your wedding, be sure to allow it to dry properly depending on which option you choose. To air dry, cut excess foliage and any leaves around the stems, turn the bouquet upside down and leave the bouquet to dry in a cool room with decent circulation. Don’t begin any DIY craft keepsake idea until the bouquet is completely dry. Once dry, get crafty and enjoy your bouquet over and over again – why knot?!

I came home to a floral mess as well. It reaked, was soaked and slimey. I was so sad to have to toss it but there was nothing I could do to save it :-(

Oh no Michelle! I definitely had a similar experience. Now at least this post will help other brides avoid the problem we had! ;)
