A “dream team” of Westchester businesses and vendors came together for what turned into a phenomenal networking event and fabulous business opportunity. This idea completely evolved from a mere thought on the mind of Jill K. Imbrogno, owner and founder of JKFlashy Makeup Service of White Plains, to a successful collaboration from top businesses in the county. I had the pleasure of chatting with Jill K. about the event and I could hear the energy and excitement in her voice about how the event turned out. Read on to see what she had to say and check out some of the amazing photos taken by Ricky Restiano Photography.
1- Having 14 business collaborate on a networking event such as this must have been a dream come true! How did the event evolve from a small project to a full-blown showcase?
This was a “Milestone” in my Career & Life, this was a collaborative success that I was apart of and will reflect upon for years to come. I contacted Ricky Restiano of Ricky Restiano Photography to do a simple shoot. Monica Chimes with Monica Chimes Floral Inc. had told me she would do flowers from the beginning of the planning. I worked with Salon Posh, Diane Mammana at a Westchester Magazine Photo Shoot & we immediately “clicked.” I told Diane about my shoot with Ricky & she immediately wanted to be part of it. Our PR Guru, LJ Strategies Inc. had gotten involved for PR & Media exposure took us to a level possibly unattainable by ourselves. She put me in touch with Be Unique Boutique in Mount Kisco, where the Owner Erika Pitt lent out 14 Wedding Dresses for the Shoot. LJ Strategies secured an amazing eclectic wedding cake from the one and only the Waldorf Astoria. From there it completely was a domino effect…everyone wanted to be apart of the shoot! Because we were on an amazing role…I thought, “Why Not??”…I called Mario from Silver Star Limousine & asked for their brand new Phantom, his response was consistent with every other vendor participating in shoot…”YES! I am so happy you contacted me!!” The PR Releases started & everyone began talking about this amazing Shoot. We also had secured from the beginning Miss Westchester Teen to model & the a Miss New York Contestant, whom I am the Beauty Sponsor for. Diane of Salon Posh secured catering throughout the day of the shoot with Piloneʼs Meateria. Models were recruited from Facebook. Women took the day off of school, mothers held their daughters from school…all who wanted to be apart of this shoot made it happen! Fran Tutulli, manicurist in Dutchess County wanted to do manicures. This was a collaboration of high energy, extremely positive, creative minds that saw no limits AT ALL!
2- Since you will be promoting a similar event for prom fashion later this year, will these events be the forefront of your business ventures in the future? Perhaps JKFlashy will be hosting their own vendor showcases next year!
That’s a great question & the answer is probably not! I am absolutely in love & extremely passionate about my Career in Cosmetics. I love running a growing Makeup Service Company. I love setting the Precedence & high expectations for clients and exceeding them! I love training my employees & learning new tips and trips and sharing those with my team. I love that my Career & Company are exploding and I have literally enjoyed every second of this journey…I truly wish I never reach whatever the “destination” may be.
3- With regards to social media, what are you favorite ways to network with your clients and fellow vendors/businesses?
My favorite would have to be Facebook, Twitter, my Website JKFlashy.com & LJ Strategies Inc as well as my brilliant Web Designer, 540 Design Studio are constantly mentoring & guiding me into expanding into more social media aspects. Besides social media, I am an old fashioned “talker” meaning I can talk to anyone & constantly network with my mouth! I love getting to know other vendors and learning from each I work with.
4- BONUS question (why knot?!) As a top wedding vendor in this area, what advice would you give to future brides when they are choosing their vendors?
I appreciate being classified as a “top wedding vendor” it is an honor & a privilege to fall into such a classification & have the reputation we have earned. My recommendation is to never ever settle! If you want “the best” book early. Do your research & read reviews, ask trusted vendors to refer other vendors. Most importantly, enjoy the process of planning & enjoy every second of your Wedding Day & know every vendor you have chosen should feel privileged to be part of the most Special & Precious Days of Your Lives.
A special thanks to Jill K. Imbrogno for sharing her insight and first-hand experience with Mrs. Why Knot! Read the full article posted by Phil Corso of The Daily Harrison here. Be sure to contact the above-mentioned Westchester vendors and businesses for your next event…why knot?!
